If you're looking to improve the durability and performance of your asphalt, then styrene butadiene latex, also known as SBR latex, may be the solution you need. This type of latex is commonly used in the preparation of cationic modified emulsified asphalt for road construction.
Styrene Butadiene Latex for Bitumen Description
SBR latex is a versatile material suitable for the preparation of cationic modified emulsified asphalt. This type of emulsified asphalt has excellent compatibility and can significantly improve the asphalt softening point, low-temperature ductility, toughness, and tenacity. It is widely used for high-grade road surfaces, bridge and road engineering of micro table places, slurry seals, sticky oil layer modified asphalt and roofing, underground caverns, and waterproof and moisture-proof engineering.
Methods of Use and Recommended Dosage
SBR latex can be easily mixed with cationic emulsified bitumen to produce modified emulsified asphalt. The recommended dosage is generally 2%-5% (dry basis) for sticky layer oil and 10%-20% (dry basis) for waterproof modified emulsion asphalt.
Application
SBR latex is an excellent choice for Bitumen&Cement applications. It is commonly used in the construction of high-grade road surfaces, bridges, and micro table places. Additionally, it is suitable for slurry seals, sticky oil layer modified asphalt and roofing, underground caverns, and waterproof and moisture-proof engineering.
Storage and Package
When storing SBR latex, it is important to keep it away from rain, snow, or strong sunlight. The temperature should be maintained between 1~40°C. It comes in 200L drums and 1000L IBCs, and must be kept in dry, cool, non-aggressive gas warehouses, away from strong sunlight, fire, and thermal resources. It has a shelf life of 6 months with a slight decrease in pH value.
